If you live or work downtown, the cafe/restaurant Forthright should be added to your breakfast, lunch, and coffee rotation. Tucked away on the corner of Cesar Chavez and Brazos, Forthright’s light, bright space is polished enough for a work meeting, or you can camp out with a laptop at the wooden bar in the mornings.. There’s also an elaborate tea and matcha drinks menu - one of the biggest in town. While they’re open and serve cocktails until 8pm – with a Happy Hour Wednesday through Friday – the atmosphere here currently is much better suited for daytime eating experiences. This place is known for brunch, and it can get busy, especially out on the leafy patio. Bonus: there’s a small lot right out front with free parking (and they also validate at a parking garage).
