Little Donkey Mexican Kitchen and Bar
Little Donkey in West Seattle seems built from a “fun restaurant with margaritas” kit—there’s the constellation of orange lights that cast a flattering glow, a dining room set up to accommodate loud groups sharing chips and guac, and the requisite list of flavored cocktails. The only thing missing is food that's enjoyable. Plates of bland shrimp and overcooked brussels sprouts appetizers dampen the party mood immediately, even before you get to the soggy fish tacos and carnitas drier than Yakima in July. If you’re looking for a lively place on a Friday night, this place might work for one or two drinks at the bar with a couple of friends—but don’t bother ordering anything else beyond chips.
