After being crowned air hockey champ at Emporium, or getting blasted off tequila sodas and sweating through your shirt at Madrone, the next order of business is a visit to Sunset Squares Slice Shop—a.k.a. the late-night pizza destination in NoPa. The more casual outpost of Sunset Squares is down the block from most of the Divisadero bar action (just follow the “Hot Pizza” sign), and is ready for you to inhale their snappy sourdough crust at a degenerate hour (they’re open until 2:30am on weekends). This pizza spot is as straightforward as it gets. Order on the tablet, snag a stool to debrief the drunken shenanigans, and let a piping hot slice of pepperoni or barbecue chicken bring you back down to earth. Is this the best pizza you’ll ever have? No. But it is, at least, a step up from the DiGiorno in your freezer.
