Minnie Bell’s in the Fillmore is serving San Francisco’s best fried chicken. The rosemary-spiced skin is crispy, the meat is juicy, and the hot honey you can order on the side adds a spicy twist. The mac and cheese is also excellent—it’s rich, creamy, gooey, and has a thin layer of caramelized crust that’ll make you want to get two sides of it. Everything else, like the crispy cornbread and the slightly too-sweet candied yams, is still great, but you’re really here to load up on as much fried chicken and mac and cheese as possible—go ahead and pair it with a glass of champagne while you’re at this sit-down spot with a bar and a TV tuned to sports.
