Located right off 16th and Valencia, Detroit Square Pizza is a take-out-only kiosk that’s making an obvious play for the inebriated Friday night crowd who won’t notice the fact their pizza barely tastes like pizza at all. The focaccia-like crust is made of 98% air, the cheese is almost nonexistent, and the sauce is strangely sweet. At $9 for two slices, it’s not a horrible deal, but that doesn’t matter when you consider that we couldn’t even finish a slice. Instead, walk the extra block to slightly more expensive (but significantly better) Joyride Pizza.
