If you’ve walked down 13th Street in Midtown Village, you’ve inevitably passed a date, someone’s parents, and a girls’ night happening at Barbuzzo. It’s one of those rare spots that manages to please just about anyone, which isn’t surprising considering they make great pizza, pasta, and Mediterranean small plates.
You’ll probably need to make a reservation to eat here, but the bar and chef’s counter are first-come, first-serve, in case you’re looking to roll the dice with your dinner plans. Start with a few Negronis, order a pizza and a few plates to share (get the grilled octopus), and make sure to split the salted caramel budino for dessert.

Roasted & Pickled Beet Salad
We don't care if this salad is everywhere—the combination of roasted beets, tangy, juicy orange and herby pistachio pesto is delicious. It's one of the best starters here.

Spring Pea Arancini
The arancini change seasonally here (mushroom is usually the stuffing in the colder months), but they are always crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. A great shareable dish.

Uovo Pizza
If this pizza is on the menu, get it. It's topped with brussel leaves, salty guanciale, and truffle egg. The Asparago (also with topped with the decadent truffle egg) is a close second.

Pan-Seared Gnocchi
There's always a pan-seared gnocchi on the menu, and it's always the best pasta option. This one comes with mushroom, asparagus, pea leaves, and a nutty porcini butter.

Salted Caramel Budino
This is arguably the best dessert in Philadelphia. It layers creamy salted caramel custard over a chocolate cookie crust, all topped with more caramel and whipped cream. The entire bite melts in your mouth. If for some reason you can only order one thing at Barbuzzo, it must be this.
