Sundaes Best

We always appreciate a good ice cream pun, even if it is a little overused, and we’d visit Sundaes Best in Koreatown on Sunday, or any other day, for their incredibly creamy gelato. So what if the wordplay feels familiar, and maybe the pink decor and neon “Love at first scoop” sign do too. The ice creams and sorbets, piled up in smooth, colorful waves, are delightfully inventive. You’ll find almost buttery gelatos in rotating flavors like miso caramel, injeolmi with little bits of rice cake, and a tangy, slightly boozy makgeolli—as well as fruity sorbets in flavors like white peach and Jeju mandarin. There are mochi doughnuts too, as cute and tempting as baby teething rings.
