The Red Pavilion
A neo-noir fever dream awaits you at this Chinese teahouse and nightclub in Bushwick. It’s a 1920s Shanghai saloon in here, awash with red light and a mystical fog. On Fridays, a jazz band takes the stage in a scene straight out of a War Kong Wai film. Some nights, you’ll get an aerial show or lusty cabaret, all of which eventually turn into a loud after-hours party with danceable tunes from a DJ booth. During the day, they serve Chinese-medicine inspired cocktails and dim sum, but the food isn't quite as magical as the space, unless you add some Dim Sum Divas to the deal at their drag brunch.
