In the back of an eyeglass store in the Meatpacking District, someone by the name of Papi Pet-Nat will pour you something natural, from Slovakia, that tastes like a ripe apple. If this sounds speakeasy-ish to you, we had the same thought at first. But this high-ceilinged back room, separated from the store by a thin curtain, feels more like a lounge where you can follow your bifocal browsing with a bottle of wine, if you want. Nobody, including Papi Pet-Nat himself, seems too sure how long they will continue to pour wine in the back of Krewe. But if you find yourself in the Meatpacking District while they still do, stop in for a glass. And some glasses.
