Ackee Bamboo is one of our all-around favorite Jamaican restaurants in LA. Located in downtown Leimert Park, we recommend getting both their jerk chicken and brown stew chicken combos to go (trust us, you need both in your life), picnicking at Leimert Park Plaza around the corner, and then spending the rest of the afternoon exploring Leimert Park and the tree-lined neighborhood that surrounds it. So keep this place in mind when you’re looking to pick up something meaty/substantial or a couple of Caribbean baked goods in the area.

Jerk Chicken

These plump drumsticks and thighs have smoky skin, succulent meat, and they’re smothered in a thick layer of jerk sauce. Each piece is juicy from the inside out, and we like that you can taste a combination of vinegar, chili pepper, and garlic in every bite.

Neptune’s Net is a kitschy seafood dive that’s all 1950′s Americana and a must-stop for any jaunt up PCH.
