The Painter's Room

Sometimes it’s essential to masquerade as a socialite for an evening. Whether this delightfully narcissistic trait gets triggered by too much quality time with the Sidebar Of Shame or because you’re having nostalgic The Simple Life flashbacks, when you’ve got that urge for glam, you can’t beat The Painter’s Room at Claridge’s. This intimate pink hideaway inside one of London’s most famed hotels has that more-is-more golden age feel and is perfect for sophisticated sipping or a dressed-up birthday toast over an exceptional plum take on a Joan Collins. The coconut rum and mint wonder ‘Sapphire’ is also worth an order, but be warned that the cocktails all fall around the—checks overdraft—£20 mark so come here for a tender moment rather than a whole evening.
