Frenchie’s bacon scones came into our lives on October 24th 2018. It was a beautiful, sunny Wednesday, soundtracked by birdsong, with whimsical rays of sunshine pointing us towards Henrietta Street. Okay, actually we don’t remember the weather, it was probably pissing it down. We’re being dramatic. But if any baked good is worthy of some theatrics it’s this guy. Salty bacon, sweet maple syrup, and thick clotted cream. You’re basically doing Frenchie wrong if you don’t begin and end your meal with a round of their scones.
Fast forward to purgatory, or as some call it, the year 2020. In a surprise turn of good news, Frenchie is now delivering. Are we in the midst of some kind of meaty baked goods boredom mirage? Maybe. But join us. It’s lovely here. Not only is this excellent upmarket Covent Garden spot delivering London’s Best Scones, they’re also offering up a three-course menu including things like a smoked ricotta, strawberry, and pea salad, green asparagus gnocchi, and a pistachio tart with raspberry coulis. Plus, everything is delivered in takeout boxes that are best described as the Mona Lisa of origami. Because, Frenchie.
To find out if you’re in their three-mile delivery radius head to their website. Or, if you live nearby you can swing by for collection and a cold pint of their orange blossom pale ale.
