Xeo Yum

Xeo Yum will make you say, ‘oh, yum,” and not just because of the punny name. The Vietnamese food stall near the center of the Midtown food hall the Conservatory specifically serves bánh xèo, a turmeric and rice flour crepe stuffed with meat and bean sprouts. A popular street food in Vietnam, the crispy yet soft crepe is eaten by stuffing it into lettuce with fresh mint and basil before being dunked into fish sauce. Have some napkins ready to take down one of Xeo Yum’s crepes along with an order of bánh khọt, a large circle of multiple mini fluffy pancakes stuffed with shrimp. Both items are yellow, savory, oily in the best way, and make excellent spongy vessels for as much fish sauce as you desire to consume.
