Ragin’ Cajun
To find Ragin’ Cajun in the Greenway area, look for the giant red crawfish wrapped in string lights. Opened in 1974, this was the first Cajun restaurant in Houston. Like any iconic Louisiana roadside restaurant, it smells of paprika, cayenne, and brine and is covered floor-to-ceiling in bayou-, crawfish-, and Mardi Gras-themed memorabilia. Find all of your Cajun favorites: red beans and rice topped with cheese and onions, thick po-boys with fried shrimp, fresh Gulf oysters, and fried catfish. Order everything at the counter, and either sit inside or outside beneath the glow of the giant glowing crawfish.
