Coastline Artisan Pizzeria
Included In
Coastline Artisan Pizza in First Ward has a kind of clubhouse-but-we-also-make-pizza vibe. It plays loud music, sets rum cocktails on fire, and, of course, has a massive domed pizza oven. The staff feels like fill-ins from a rogue fraternity—half try to impress you with rusty improv skills while the rest roam around acting aloof—and the pizza, especially the Napoletana, tastes excellent. Pizzas have a soft, pillowy, slightly tangy crust. The “Texas-style” grilled flatbread pizzas get toppings like tender barbecue brisket or buffalo chicken with gorgonzola. Coastline might not be flashy, but it makes a meal here that much better. Grabbing a pizza at the bar, sneaking in for a quick date night, or catching up with friends over a couple of beers doesn’t need to be a big production. Coastline just feels like a regular neighborhood place in the best way, and sometimes that’s all you need.
