Thai Pastry
Come to Thai Pastry to eat Thai food in a space that feels like a cross between a college campus café and your friend’s basement rec room. The carpeted, cozy Uptown space is surrounded by seasonal decor like jack-o-lanterns (in May), grocery shelves lined with snacks, a dessert display case, and a TV playing travel shows with Thai subtitles. The dishes are solid, from the curry fried rice to pad khee mao, and the pumpkin and eggplant curry—but stick to the Thai dishes here and pass on things like sweet and sour chicken. They’ll also make most of the menu without eggs, fish or oyster sauce, so it’s a great spot for vegetarians and vegans.
