Between the relaxed atmosphere, friendly banter with neighborhood regulars, and cheesy-yet-charming Home Goods-esque signs on the walls, Lucy’s feels like a small town cafe that was teleported to Roscoe Village. And it’s easy to see why this 100% vegetarian and vegan breakfast and lunch spot has many returning customers—there are plenty of great dishes like pillowy French toast flights, cheesy Spanish tortillas with fluffy potato layers, and vegetable eggs benedicts that pardon the usual Canadian hog. When it’s reasonable to wear shorts outside (no, 40-degrees is not shorts weather) you can enjoy their egg-centric dishes and lunchier wraps and burgers on their sidewalk patio.
