Kai Sushi
Kai Sushi doesn’t look like much, but it’s reliable as a casual neighborhood sushi option. All the sushi and sashimi usual suspects are on the menu, there’s a decent number of vegetarian rolls available, plus 21 different specialty rolls. For $26-$35, you can get one of their platters, which comes with an assortment of makimono pieces, sashimi, and miso soup. It’s on the ground floor of a South Loop apartment building, it’s rarely crowded, and all the ambiance will probably be coming from the kid watching their iPad at the table next to you. Save this spot for a weeknight when scarfing down fish without a bunch of distractions is your only objective.
