El Fogon De Elena

It's easy to miss El Fogón De Elena’s tiny storefront—but make sure you don't because their Colombian food is delicious. The tiny, crispy empanadas are great appetizers filled with things like shredded chicken or cheese and potatoes. The pillowy arepas are good for a solo meal, and their seafood platters are great for sharing, especially when paired with a round of Cola and Pola, a refreshing, slightly alcoholic Colombian soda with a 1.5% abv. The dark, wooden interior feels very homey, filled with decorations that look like things you'd find in a World Market catalog. The space can fill up pretty quickly during lunch and dinner, but it never feels cramped, and there’s always a fun energy from the chatter and Latin music.
