Cafe Con Leche

Cafe Con Leche is a neighborhood staple in Logan Square that’s been around for over 20 years. What started as a small counter-service sandwich and coffee shop has since evolved into a casual, all-day restaurant serving Latin and Mexican dishes like tacos, fajitas, and platos like ropa vieja and tampiquena. Nothing on the menu will make you unhappy, but the real highlight here is the bistec jibarito. It comes with a scoop of garlic butter that not only adds amazing flavor to the fried plantain, but can—and should—be repurposed as a dip for the fries. Wash it all down with a frozen mojito.
