If you’re sick of North End Italian restaurants whose idea of mixing things up is putting something with pesto on the menu, head to Taranta on Hanover. This is an Italian restaurant that went to Peru, potentially tried some ayahuasca, and had visions of excellent fusion dishes like gnocchi stuffed with cassava root. This small, brick-walled spot is much better than a lot of the other Hanover Street restaurants that get all the lines.
