Located in a food trailer park on East Cesar Chavez with nearly half-a-dozen other vegan trailers, Possum Pizza specializes in vegan pizza, which makes this a great spot for those on plant-based diets and for people who want to enjoy a “cheese” pizza without scarfing down a handful of Lactaids first (Possum uses Follow Your Heart non-dairy cheese-alternative). If you’re typically an omnivore, you’re not going to leave confused about whether or not you secretly just ate meat, but you won’t leave disappointed either, thanks to a delightfully chewy crust with just the right amount of char, and crispy, well-seasoned meat-alternatives dotting the top. If you really want to complete the meat-free “pizza night” feel, grab an order of buffalo chik’n wings. They look more like the real thing than most vegan wings we’ve tried, and a super crispy breading ensures you won’t be missing poultry soon.
