Choo Sando
Included In
Choo Sando is a tiny strip mall operation in Allandale that feels like a gateway to a konbini in Japan. There’s a small dining area, but it’s a mostly grab-and-go situation. If you have commitment issues, you can grab variety packs that feature up to eight different half-sandwiches, ensuring you never have to eat more than three bites of the same thing. Sushi also hangs out in the refrigerated grab-and-go section, along with a handful of chirashi bowls and daily sushi boxes that come with a small printed menu of what each fish is, where it’s from, how it was prepared, and its favorite TV show (one of those might not be true). And if you want the full experience, you can place a pre-order online for a take-home omakase box that feeds four. It arrives wrapped in a bow, which makes it feel like a present—it’s especially fitting since the fish selection is a surprise.
