DCReview
Our search for great DC pizza continues because Slice Joint is just another disappointment—and one of the biggest. The pizza place is inside The Roost, a food hall in Capitol Hill where you’ll find children running around like they’re at a playground while their parents are off grabbing food or having a drink. Slice Joint serves, as the name suggests, slices and whole pies that range from $4.50 to $29. But the cheese is too salty, the crust isn’t salty enough, and the sauce is tart and unbalanced. You might be able to get away with a slice or two if you’re really hungry, but specialty pies aren’t worth it—like the Guilty Pleasure, covered in pepperoni, jalapeño, and pineapple so sweet, it’ll make you agree with the people who say it doesn’t belong on pizza.
