Kinship
Kinship is where you go in Shaw for a special occasion meal, like the anniversary of your boss not calling you their last assistant’s name or your dog’s graduation from obedience school. It’s one of those new American places where the menu is inexplicably divided into sections called “craft,” “history,” “ingredients,” and “indulgence,” but we promise it’s not pretentious. Ignore the divisions, and just be excited about dishes like lobster French toast and braised lamb shoulder. Plus, the all white/grey dining room feels like being in a Restoration Hardware showroom, but without the salespeople trying to sell you couches for $5,000. The only way to do a meal here wrong is to leave without getting the previously mentioned lobster French toast.
