Espita Mezcaleria
This spot is Permanently Closed.
Espita Mezcal is where you go when you want tacos and pitchers that are a little more upscale than your local taqueria. Instead of mounds of sour cream and bad alcohol, the stuff here comes with mole and high-quality mezcal. The space is probably nicer, too. The high ceilings and concrete floors give it a warehouse vibe, and the big, bright murals get a 10/10 for wall art.
It can get a little pricey, but the excellent food (especially the lamb barbacoa tacos and ceviches) and unique drinks are worth the cost. That being said, it’s not stuffy and still a good spot for a fun dinner. Just not the kind that where you end with multiple rounds of bottom shelf tequila shots and someone throwing up in the bathroom.
