This Georgetown steakhouse at the Four Seasons is sure to be full of hotel guests who are in the city for the holidays. But if you’re looking for a juicy steak and some free fries, it’s a good spot to post up for dinner. Make a reservation a.s.a.p., though. Space is limited, and it’s filling up fast.

December 25th is just one of the 365 days on the calendar. And to mark it as a regular day, you can have a regular meal at Founding Farmers & Distillers. The Chinatown spot is busy all day, every day, and Christmas will likely be the same. It’s a quaint, casual spot that we love for breakfast—get the blueberry pancakes—but it also has a large lunch and dinner menu that’s great for families.

Christmas Day isn’t the most popular date night, but Il Piatto is open in case you’re trying to ditch your out-of-town guests and have a romantic evening. The half-circle booths are perfect for snuggling close to your loved one under twinkling string lights while you crane your necks to try and catch a glimpse of the White House down the block.

If you’ve spent all year thinking about The Bazaar’s octopus like we have, Christmas Day is a good chance to take it for one more spin before the new year. Try to get a table on the second floor of the Spanish spot so you’re right under the atrium and have a panoramic view of the Waldorf Astoria’s lobby.

Knead Hospitality + Design keeps the city active on holidays. And just like New Year’s Eve, a number of the restaurants will be open on Christmas Day. The Gatsby in Navy Yard is great for meeting up for drinks when you don't want to commit to a full dinner but still want the option to grab some food. The art deco-themed restaurant is also fun if you and your date are looking for somewhere lowkey to ring in 2024.

Maybe you overdid it with your Christmas Eve shenanigans, and now you have a hankering for fried chicken. Head to Luna Hall in Chinatown. TKK Fried Chicken will be serving its juicy tenders and boxes of crispy wings, legs, and thighs. Hang out in the lounge chairs if you are trying to relax and kick your feet up, but it’s also a great take-home meal if you have more Hallmark rom coms to watch.

This DC institution seems like it’s always open, and Christmas Day is no exception. While Le Diplomate doesn’t serve great French food, it is huge, so it works well for big groups. Which is helpful to know in case all your friends are stranded in town and need a last-minute place to get together.
