The Best Restaurants For A Team Business Trip To London

All the best places to eat between meetings.

If your team is in London for business, your schedule is probably pretty full with meetings, calls, and team bonding activities that have the atmosphere of an intervention. In between all that, you need to use your time wisely. Specifically, you should use it to get around and eat as much as possible. That’s what this guide is for. It has everything from an Indian BBQ spot in the City, to a vegetable specialist in Fitzrovia. These are the eight spots to head to when you’re on a team business trip in London.

Brat is a bit like that new cool person. The one who your friends are friends with and say you must meet, but who you’re convinced you won’t like because they’re really cool. Then you speak to them properly and realise that they’re actually both really nice and really cool, and then you get on like a house on fire. That’s Brat. This Shoreditch restaurant is a place to get merry, and a little bit loud in. The room is big, and it’s open to the wood fire where all kinds of delights are grilled. Anything bread related is a must order, as is a whole turbot to share.

Whether you’re looking for a quick breakfast or a full, multi-course meal, Granger & Co in Clerkenwell is where you should head. This slick all-day restaurant is a big, bright, and modern affair, serving the kind of consistently solid food you’d find in a cool café in Sydney. There are all kinds of salads, an excellent crispy chicken burger, and a cold drip coffee that’s definitely one of the best things you can drink in this part of town.

Rovi in Fitzrovia is a big, open restaurant that looks part show home and part beautiful spaceship. It just so happens to also serve excellent sharing plates. Head here when you want plenty of top vegetable dishes, or just need somewhere cool and sophisticated that’s guaranteed to impress, smack bang in the heart of London.

After our first visit to Indian BBQ spot Brigadiers, we contemplated quitting our jobs and retraining in asset management just so we would have an excuse to move to the City and spend several evenings a week eating their excellent lamb chops. Whether you go for the beef shin and bone marrow biryani, or drinks from their whisky vending machine over a game of pool, you’re pretty much guaranteed a great time here.

Ozone is one of London’s best coffee roasters, but their Shoreditch spot is also an all-round restaurant that’s perfect for pleasing lots of different types of people. Whether you’re here for a breakfast of kedgeree and a bowl of granola, or an evening meal of yellow pea falafel with hummus and salad, or crab butter linguini, this place is always heaving, so book ahead. The one other constant is their excellent coffee, which is served all-day every day.

Bob Bob Cité is a flashy, over-the-top restaurant inside the City of London’s Leadenhall Building. It has blue leather booths, a huge shiny dining room, ‘presse pour champagne’ buttons on every table, and a menu packed full of things like caviar covered steak tartare, oysters, and lobster. Thanks to the slick service, big wine vault, table-side USB ports, and excellent, rich French food, it’s perfect for impressive business meals, but it’ll also work for pretty much any other occasion you throw at it.

This spot is Permanently Closed.

This Mayfair steak restaurant is inside the Como hotel, and everything from the dark leather seating to the eager, suited servers spells ‘perfect for impressing’. It also spells, ‘big bill’. The steaks here are pretty good, but it’s the sides like their excellent beef dripping potatoes and braised trotter mash that you really want to get involved in. Especially when you have a guilt loaded corporate card at your disposal.
