United Dumplings
You could spin around 15 times, blindfolded, then point a finger at a map of San Francisco and it’d land near a great dumpling spot, like United Dumplings. This Chinese place in Bernal Heights stands out for serving boiled, steamed, and pan-fried dumplings stuffed with unique ingredients, like tender bulgogi, chicken and truffle oil, or a mix of gooey mozzarella, chicken, and corn. But don’t overlook the dumplings with more traditional fillings, like potstickers with pork and Napa cabbage. The parklet (our favorite spot to eat) is always packed with families and groups passing around consistently great golden-brown shrimp toast and dan dan noodles (there are also a couple of tables inside). Beer, wine, and quick, friendly service make this a reliable spot for weeknight meet-ups in the neighborhood or last-minute dinners.

Food Rundown
Crunchy Shrimp Toast
Fried to a perfect golden-brown and dusted with powdered sugar, this trio of slightly sweet shrimp toasts are a great way to start things off. Get an order for the table to start.
Pork XLB
A classic, done very well. We have no complaints.
Korean BBQ Beef Dumplings
These boiled bulgogi dumplings with thick, chewy skins are super juicy. If Costar told you to think outside of the box this week, get this—it’s one of our favorite, more unique filling options on the menu.
