The Felix

Here to add major glamor into the act of walking through a regular door is The Felix. It’s a below-ground, speakeasy-type Tenderloin bar by Bodega SF (located right above), and gaining access requires that you press on a framed photo of a guy named Felix (it’s unrelated to the neon Felix the Cat sign out front, and a reference to a server from the restaurant’s past). A door will swing open to reveal a glowing blue staircase. Descend. For the not-so-strenuous effort, your reward is a lounge-like basement with sexy red lighting and excellent Asian-influenced cocktails spiked with things like lychee and Vietnamese coffee. Flirt with a hottie at the marble bar, or slide into one of the plush yellow booths with your closest friends, and keep the citrusy San Franpiscos coming.
