If you want to casually impress someone with your excellent taste, take them to Enswell. The all day café and bar from the Rival Bros. team is drop-dead gorgeous, and their refined cocktails and small plates are (almost) as showstopping. By day it’s a chic Rittenhouse spot to grab coffee and an almond croissant, but after 5pm it turns into a certified scene. The lights in the European-inspired space go dim, the pop and soul music goes up, and tall, tattooed people who look like extras in a movie swarm the bar and cozy banquettes. Pop in with a friend or two for a Haymaker and oysters, or settle in for a sexy dinner of small plates (be sure to get the dirty shrimp cocktail and jamon serrano).
