“Old Atlanta” props to you if you remember Run & Shoot on what used to be Stuart Avenue. Alas, Run & Shoot closed, and Stuart Avenue is now Metropolitan Parkway. However, the no-fuss, eclectic spirit of Old Atlanta lives on at Spreading The Health Juice Bar, a juicery that offers fresh pressed juice served out of label-free plastic bottles. The bright, black-and-white space is next door to a gym, attracting post-workout folks or those looking for a more palatable way to get their daily vegetables. We like the charcoal lemonade (no, it does not taste like coal), the Beetle Juice with beets, carrots, and turmeric, or the tart Zinger with carrots, pineapple, and grapefruit. All the juices have a slightly bitter aftertaste, but it’s not off-putting. It just makes you feel like you're getting all the nutrition in one gulp.
