Dark Horse Tavern

Unlike the quieter VaHi bars, Dark Horse attracts a crowd that makes it easy to mistake this bar and dance floor with a Greek Week mixer. A DJ, who usually sets up in the small upstairs booth with a window overlooking the space, spins for a crowd that generally has about as much rhythm as a Teletubby. We love this place for their heavy-handed drinks, which take us back to our college bar days. And a few sips always leads us to the small food window just off the dance floor. Drunk bites like chikki nuggies (their spelling not ours), grilled cheese, and fries won't change your life but will soak up the alcohol and prolong the good times.
