BK Lobster

If the name of this fast-casual Midtown shop doesn’t give “Proud to be from Brooklyn” energy, the gigantic mural of famed borough natives like Spike Lee and RBG near the door will. The place is so confident it can make $20 counter-service lobster rolls popular down here that it plops 12 roll varieties on the menu. One bite of the Flatbush (succulent, jerk-tossed meat stuffed inside a sweet, lightly toasted bun) and you’ll agree. Lobster cameos in the mac, grilled cheese, fried rice—and the results are largely good. At half the price of a roll, the salmon cakes have a great taste, but the delicate patties break up faster than emotional 10th graders. And in arguably the biggest BK flex, their tangy Carolina barbecue wings crush many of their ATL counterparts.
