Where To Eat At Yankee Stadium
Traditionally, the Yankees are known for their championship expectations, their staunch anti-facial-hair-on-players policy, and a relatively standard ballpark eating experience. Like we mentioned in our guide to eating at Citi Field, the best thing you can eat at any ballpark is a hot dog with mustard, no matter the stadium. But when you’re in the Bronx and you’re as hungry for a substantial bite as Aaron Judge is for a multi-hit game, these are the best things to eat at Yankee Stadium.
THE SPOTS

Rotisserie Chicken
Location: City Winery, Section 105
City Winery’s rotisserie chicken is not only the best value at Yankee Stadium, but the best bite as well. You get a half chicken, a big pile of fries, and some herby salsa verde. The chicken is well-cooked and plenty moist, and the skin is salty and herby and has the texture of something that used to be crispy, but has been sitting out for a bit (we view this as a positive). This is the most filling way to spend $20 at the ballpark—just make sure to grab some napkins.

M's Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich
Location: Streetbird by Marcus Samuelsson, Section 112
The M’s Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich is our favorite of the big variety of chicken sandwiches at Yankee Stadium. It’s a double-stacked endeavor, which means that you have to fully unhinge your jaw to get your first bite. But once you get your mouth around it, you’ll taste chicken that’s fried quite well, and seasoned with some smoldering chilis, and a nice, refreshing slaw. The super crispy chicken wings are another good option—they taste almost candied in a brown sugar sauce.

Cheesy Garlic Bread With Pepperoni
Location: Christian Petroni, Sections 125, 310
You can get cheesy garlic bread from Christian Petroni, an Italian-American recipe content creator, made on some actually good semolina bread (a rarity in the stadium) that’s crusty and rich. You can get it topped with meatballs, but they're a bit unwieldy, so you should go with either the plain version, or topped with cupping pepperonis, and a cup of Petroni’s tomato sauce.

USDA Prime Steak Sandwich
Location: Lobel's, Section 134
A staple of Yankee Stadium since 2009, Lobel’s is a meat distributor that sells beefy sandwiches. Our pick is the steak sandwich, with onions and gravy. It’s heavy, it’s peppery, it’s savory, the portion is large, and the steak is cooked beautifully.

99 Burger
Location: Legend's Hospitality, Section 107
Named for the Yankees captain Aaron Judge, this is our favorite burger in the ballpark. But, you’ll have to wait in line for it, which can be a real bummer if you’re missing an exciting game, so we probably wouldn’t recommend this on your first or second visit to the park. But if you’re a regular, you should get these two smashed wagyu patties, a super garlicky special sauce, and american cheese mixture. It’s heavy, it’ll probably put you in a slump (just like the guy it’s named for) but it is a damn tasty burger.

Yakisoba with Steak
Location: Benihana, Section 127
Yes, baseball is a summer sport. But hot days turn to chilly nights, and the season starts in March and ends in September (or October, if you’re lucky). Benihana—yes, that Benihana—serves a really solid bowl of fried rice or fried noodles, which you can get with chicken or shrimp, but you should get with steak. The warming and large bowls of stir-fried carbs is a good departure from the sandwich-based foods that dominate the rest of the ballpark.

Chicken Platter over Rice
Location: Carts throughout the stadium, Section 321
The very same Halal Guys that are all over the city. It won’t blow you away, but balancing a chicken over rice while sitting in the center field bleachers is a unique New York experience that you should try for yourself at least once.

O.G. Spicy Chicken Sando
Location: Fuku, Sections 109 & 213
David Chang’s spicy chicken sandwich chain is refreshing, because their sandwiches are actually spicy. There are a few outposts around the stadium, so it’s a great, quick option to grab and get right back in the action. Bonus points if you grab their waffle fries and honey mustard.

Ice Cream
Location: Blue Bunny, Sections 125 & 318
What’s a baseball game without a helmet cup full of ice cream? Grab one at Blue Bunny, don’t skip the rainbow sprinkles, and bring home a souvenir. It’s worth the extra couple bucks.
