The Tsukiji Fish market is moving locations, but they keep delaying it - so for now, we insist you make a trip as long as it’s in the original spot. Some people get up at 3am to go watch the famed tuna auctions, but if you’re not that dedicated you can get there anywhere between 7 and 9am. There are two famous sushi spots in particular right next to where the tuna auction takes place - Sushi Dai and Daiwa Sushi. It’s mainly tourists waiting in the inevitable hour-plus lines, but it’s worth doing at least once. The omakase sushi platter and beer you’ll have before 10am will give you a brighter outlook on your day, even if the meal itself only lasts 30 minutes at most.
