Bar Lesieur
Bar Lesieur is the latest concept from the Schulson Collective to take over the space atop Giuseppe & Sons in Center City. It's sceney, but there's not much payoff when it comes to the food. You’ll see friends at the dimly lit bar eating (disappointing) French bistro staples like over salted steak frites, a flavorless dry-aged duck, and tough veal sweetbreads. And, though we haven't had them, we can't help but wonder why Asian dishes like shrimp dumplings and ham báhn mì make an appearance on the menu. Outside of the well-made cocktails and roasted shallot bread in the free bread basket, nothing about the dining experience here is memorable—except for the monkeys drinking vodka on the bathroom wallpaper. The win, ultimately, is the location. Stop by when you’re in the area for a chatty scene before heading to a.kitchen or Amma’s.
