Daphne's
Included In
To say Daphne’s is an Italian restaurant would be selling them short. Sure, this Bed-Stuy restaurant has a pretty standard—and delicious—caesar salad, and a pasta with beef cheek ragu. But there's also baked scallops topped with parmesan, pesto, and calabrian chili, and beef tartare with a shoyu-cured egg yolk, hiding under pieces of lasagna, fried into chips. From the team behind Decades in Ridgewood, Daphne’s has green leather booths, an open kitchen, and couples eating by candlelight, but it doesn't feel too stuffy: the white tablecloths are covered in paper—for catching lasagna chip crumbs, or more importantly, for three-spritzes-in doodles. Bring a few friends here when you need a bottle of wine and a bowl of comfortingly familiar pasta, but wouldn't mind finding out what a green tomato vodka sauce tastes like, too.
