In a very Williamsburg sort of way, Bar Madonna was inspired by a painting from streetwear designer KidSuper. Hung in the back, the painting shows folks in formalwear drinking martinis. But the Italian American bar isn’t especially formal, and, while the cocktails are great, the food is the main draw. Lined with globe lights and green banquettes, this place serves a menu best described as red sauce steakhouse meets afterschool munchies. A dense meatball parm with stretchy provolone is crisped like a smashburger, and grilled hot wings are charred to the limit. Swing by for a casually fun dinner, a few quick snacks, or some late-night mingling. Bar Madonna is open until at least midnight daily, with hours that run until 2am Thursday through Saturday.
