Miss Crispy Rice

Wynwood has become a little hotbed of sushi omakase. But Miss Crispy Rice stands out because it’s pretty unique in Miami’s crowded omakase space. Its menu is focused on hand rolls and crispy rice instead of nigiri. You can come to order pieces of that a la carte, but we like the omakase. Its price point ($87-$175) puts it on the lower end of Miami’s upscale options. The meal involves sashimi, hand rolls, and—for the more expensive packages—some nigiri and spectacular A5 wagyu courses. There’s also at least one seasonal surprise dish, which could be firefly squid in a sweet chili sauce or little soft shell crabs flown in from Japan. Just don’t expect a ton of intimacy—it’s located inside a mini food hall open to the public.
