Joanna's Marketplace

For us, Joanna's Marketplace is synonymous with one thing: smiley face cookies. A trip to this South Miami market isn’t complete without one. But it’s also a great place to pick up lunch. We like The Beast, a roast beef sandwich with lettuce and tomato slathered in sinus-clearing horseradish between two pieces of fresh sourdough bread. No matter when you go, just make sure you swing by the bakery and get a couple of those sugar cookies. The list of existing things that make us feel like a '90s Miami kid gets shorter every year, but biting into one of those crooked yellow smiles is one of them.
