Chi-Latin
Chi-Latin is from one of the owners of Dell Rooster. And while this Latin American tavern is lighter on ambiance than that great West Town spot, there are still similarities between the two restaurants. Most dishes cost between $10 and $30, like the ultra-crunchy flautas stacked on a pool of tangy guacasalsa. The staff enthusiastically explains the origin of everything you're eating, offering suggestions along the way. Bring a small group and get a bunch of plates to share, including the enchiladas and incredible carne brava. It's served on a wooden board shaped like a cross-section of a tree trunk, and comes with crispy-yet-fluffy yucca fries and a chimichurri sauce. The flavor of grilled skirt steak marinated in beer and wine will attach itself to your brain with the strength of a stubborn price tag on a gift. You won’t mind.
