Here’s an SAT test question for you, because we know that sounds like fun.
Crab Cakes & Football : Maryland :: (A) Pie & Biscuits : Bang Bang Pie & Biscuits (B) Pie & Patio : Bang Bang Pie & Biscuits (C) Patio & Biscuits : Bang Bang Pie & Biscuits (D) What the f*ck does “:” and “::” stand for?
But this isn’t a test. It’s more of a public service announcement to tell you that Bang Bang Pie & Biscuits is awesome in every sense of the word. It’s a unique spot that feels part coffee house, part sweet and savory bakery, and wholly a place you want to eat.
As you can guess by the name, their thing is both pie and biscuits.
The biscuits are what biscuits are supposed to be, which means you know there’s a lot of butter involved. They are delicious no matter how you bake it, and can be enjoyed in a number of ways. Plain biscuit? Go for it, and be generous with the homemade jam and butter. And if that’s not good enough, get a breakfast sandwich by adding egg, cheese, and your choice of meat. Perfectly poached eggs make for pure breakfast sandwich magic, one you’ll be hard pressed not to partially eat with a fork and knife.
There’s more though, because Bang Bang offers a number of other items just in case the basic sandwich doesn’t cut it for you. Splurge for dishes like grits and eggs, biscuits and gravy, or even a savory chicken pot pie if you’d like.
Once you’re done with the savory food, Bang Bang makes you cap it all off with a piece of pie. And by that we mean you would be an idiot not to cap off a trip here with pie. It’s even acceptable to come only for pie, either slices or whole. The seasonal flavors often rotate, and while $5 a slice is a little hefty, there’s a reason other restaurants in town like Shake Shack and Parson’s Chicken & Fish incorporate Bang Bang Pie into their own menus. There’s a price for homemade quality, and we’ll pay it every time.
The inside of Bang Bang itself is pretty small, with a chalkboard menu, counter service, and seats for 15-20 people tops. But the best part of the space is the large patio out back, which is why Bang Bang is a must visit in the warmer months. The abundance of picnic tables and chairs makes it the perfect place to lounge, plus the sunlight and gingham paper food is served on makes this the ideal spot to snap those coveted #EEEEEATS.
Answer: (E) - (A), (B), and (C). Tests were never clear.
