Do you need a place in Arlington to catch up with a friend over drinks? Pepita Cantina is your spot.
Owned by Mike Isabella, who seems to be on a campaign to take over Arlington (he also own Kapnos Taverna and Yona around the corner), this small space isn’t more than a few high top tables and a bar. All told, the place probably can’t fit more than 30 people. And it’s just about perfect for what it is.
This is a place where the drink menu is bigger than the food menu, but they both shine and compliment each other perfectly. The Mexican-inspired drinks range from traditional (margaritas) to less than traditional (a frozen coffee drink with cinnamon and mezcal), and they’re exactly what gets you in the mood for Mexican bar food that is perfect to share.
There is a huge list of choices, and you really can’t go wrong with any of them. They have the classics, as well as a whole array of unique drinks. We strongly recommend anything with tequila or mezcal.
Order a sampling of offerings and split them with a friend.
This comes topped with chorizo and more cheese. Because melted cheese is never a bad thing. We won’t tell your doctor, we pinky-swear.
