Nido
Nido is an airy, bright neighborhood spot that will make you feel like you’re on a Greek island you once saw on a screensaver. The tables are turquoise, there are prints of birds and flowers on the white brick walls, and a floor-to-ceiling window facing Rhode Island Avenue. It's a “cute” place.
As for the food, it’s Mediterranean, and both the small and larger plates are solid. The Brookland location is a little off the beaten path, so it’s a place you go when happen to be in the area, or you’re sick of all your usual spots. We like it for a dinner with a few close friends, or a low-key date, preferably with an attractive Greek person you met in the screensaver.
