The type of neighborhood pub where everybody knows your name, this Southie favorite has a killer patio. Pull up a chair, order a frosty beer, and enjoy the people watching. Make sure to sample the farm-to-table menu of shareable plates, with specialties like warm Bavarian pretzel sticks and jerk chicken quesadillas.

It says a lot about Boston that this historic pub was one of the first buildings raised in Charlestown after the British ransacked this neighborhood in 1780. To this day, the Warren Tavern is one of the best places in town to grab a pint, and on a sunny day, there’s no better place to soak up Boston’s history than from one of this pub’s outdoor tables.

How is it that beer always tastes better with a view? At the Envoy Hotel’s buzzy rooftop, you’ll be treated to panoramic vistas over not one but two neighborhoods: Boston’s historic downtown and the Seaport. Here, the vibes and snacks are both excellent - the Cuban-meets-Korean-meets-New-England menu is some of the tastiest bar food you’ll find in Boston.

Sports culture reigns supreme in Boston, and whether you’re a Sox fan or you support some lesser team, pop by this classic Boston sports bar to see what Fenway is all about. Just note: all the action happens in the alley, where you’ll find Adirondack chairs, palm trees, and more Sox fans than you could shake a stick at.

In the heart of downtown Boston just steps from Beacon Hill and the Boston Common is this classic American pub. On a warm day at happy hour, the outdoor seats here are filled with off-duty office types and State House lackeys. If you want to eavesdrop on what’s really happening in Beantown, this is the pub to do it.

Kenmore Square is at the crossroads of the city, nestled in between historic Back Bay and bustling Fenway - and the outdoor seats at this gastropub are a prime spot to take it all in. Check out the extensive menu of specialty burgers and hot dogs, including the signature Kenmore Dog, which comes with sauteed peppers and onions and smothered with beer mustard sauce.

The party never stops at this cheekily named Southie bar, which promises good times and a jovial Irish pub-inspired atmosphere. Grab an outdoor seat and people watch as you dig into short rib tortellini or buffalo chicken calzone.
