The Original Margarita has been around for 70 years, and is made with three simple ingredients: Cointreau, tequila, and lime. There are so many twists to the Original Margarita that Cointreau and The Infatuation joined forces to find the best of the best. Bartenders from around the country submitted their take on this classic cocktail. Our judges, along with the public, have now chosen the top 3 margaritas in the nation. The Best Margarita, West winner is Porta Via Calabasas, with the Passion in Paradise Margarita.
While her restaurant was closed during lockdown, Emma Roberts, the general manager of Porta Via restaurant, began experimenting with cocktail recipes on her Instagram and YouTube channel. Inspired by Cinco de Mayo and ingredients found in her home - some passion fruit, 1800 Coconut tequila, Chinola Passion Fruit Liqueur, and Cointreau - Roberts created the Passion in Paradise Margarita. It quickly became the restaurant’s most popular cocktail.
