14 Brooklyn Restaurants To Order From On Caviar For New Year’s Eve

Our New Years’ resolution? Ordering one of these NYE meals to eat at home and finishing the book we started in January.

New Year’s Eve call for a celebratory mood, even if you’re staying in. Our best advice: order some celebratory food from Caviar. These 14 spots are all excellent options, whether you’re planning to get dressed up and go all out, or celebrate on the couch. And if you're in Manhattan, check out these 15 spots on Caviar.

The Taiwanese-American restaurant in East Williamsburg is offering their sesame noodles and pork buns for New Year’s Eve, only on Caviar. There’s also lu rou fan (minced pork over rice), beef wrapped in scallion pancakes, and a Taiwanese staple known as flys head (equal parts pork and chives). Pretty much everything comes topped with something like scallions or fried shallots, and, once you see the dishes, you’ll know for certain that you want it to be a part of your 2022.

We like to think of this Prospect Heights Italian place as an overachieving neighborhood restaurant, the kind you want to start calling “your spot.” And if you’re going to have a “spot,” you should definitely order from there for NYE.

If you’re having a big group of friends over, you should absolutely order from Crown Heights’ go-to spot for meeting up with friends. Plus, they’ll deliver margaritas right to your door.

Tiny Cantina also serves solid Mexican food, and if you’re hoping for one last tlayuda, cemita, or carnitas in 2021, look no further. And for the occasion, you can enjoy a special mixed taco platter or pozole de mi barrio (pork soup with radishes, red hominy, and chile de arból). Make sure you end your night with the tres leches cake.

When you’re met with the uncertainties of a new year, sometimes panicking feels like the only answer. But we’re here to tell you that ordering pizza is also an acceptable way to deal. Roberta’s famous Neopolitan pies are baked in a massive wood-burning that gives it that perfect char flecked crust. You can’t go wrong with any of their pies, whether you grab yours topped with chili and honey or semi-sharp caciocavallo cheese. No need to panic—eat pizza instead.

This last year had some highs and more than a few lows, but if you want to end things with a guaranteed win, order from Barano. They serve fantastic seasonal pastas like cacio e pepe ravioli, tagliatelle bolognese, and pizzas made with their own handmade mozzarella. For New Year’s Eve, they are offering squash pasta in a brown butter sauce and Ndjua pizza only on Caviar. If you also want to get ahead on your 2022 new year’s resolutions of cooking more, you can order pizza and pasta-making kits to make at home.

Paulie Gee’s serves classic New York slices and pies, and they have plenty of vegan options too. There’s no better way to celebrate the new year than getting the Sicilian-style sesame-crusted Freddy Prince—it’s the best thing here. Your 2022-self will thank you tomorrow.

Much like the prospects of the year 2022, Mekelberg’s menu goes in many different directions. The porchetta and the duck banh mi are both great, and you should definitely go for the loaded baked potato with toppings like bacon and raclette or cod and caviar. Cheers to many more post-dinner naps on the couch in 2022.

Some folks sip Champagne with crème fraîche and sturgeon roe, but you should be popping your NYE bubbles with fried chicken and crispy grits instead. If this sounds like a future you’re down for, Peaches’ is a no-brainer. Get the chicken and order it hot, and let the sparkling wine flow.

Overloading your coffee table with pad thai and panang curry instead of Solo cups for guests you didn’t want to invite is always a good New Year’s Eve plan. Thai Farm Kitchen is the perfect option for your big night in. In fact, by the end of the night, the only toast you’ll be making is to their tom yum soup. It’s first sour, then spicy, then sweet and deserves its own special commemorative plaque.

Dosa Royale has some of the best South Indian food in Brooklyn, especially for their namesake giant dosas. Plus, they travel well. If you like the sound of curry potatoes covered in flaky crust, get the masala dosa. For something spicier, get the rava masala dosa. And for New Year’s Eve, you can enjoy their mixed veggie uttapam and tikka kabobs on Caviar.

Ethiopian food is great for sharing–and since your friends are over, Ras Plant Based is where you should order for the evening. They specialize in plant-based Ethiopian food like tender mushroom tibs and meat-free dulet. Order the Mercato platter to share (it’s got a huge bed of spongy injera topped with our favorite dishes like lentil stew, ground chickpeas, and a colorful medley of cabbage, peppers, and carrots) but save the sambusa for yourself.

Don’t forget, even though you’re staying in, it’s still a celebration. And there’s no better place for the occasion than Falansai. This Vietnamese restaurant serves dishes from spicy green curry with seasonal vegetables to inventive dining food that doesn’t exist elsewhere in NYC, like cabbage charred braised in chicken phở.

The Italian food at Frankie’s 457 is consistently excellent. The meatballs alone are a delicious way to end 2021 on the right foot. To keep the carb consumption going strong, order the gnocchi marinara with a generous dollop of ricotta and the sweet potato ravioli.
