Maybe it annoys you that California is hoarding so much of the really good vegan stuff. Come to No Bones Beach Club, which was clearly swept up, Wizard of Oz-style, and brought to Seattle from Los Angeles in a freak tornado. This place is an all-vegan tiki bar with some of the best meatless food in the city—stuff like jackfruit flautas, tofu banh mi, buffalo tempeh sandwiches, and beet poke. Drink some coconut mojitos with your beer-battered avocado tacos and you can pretend you’re in Southern California.

Hotel Albatross in Ballard is the ultimate birthday spot—the kind of place that serves drinks inside hollowed-out fruit.

Manao is the best casual Thai spot on Capitol Hill. Come for the pork belly nuggets, stay for the zesty crispy chicken.
