La Josie's

$$$$

514 E Pike, Seattle
View WebsiteEarn 3X Points

If you’re looking to drink margaritas outside on Capitol Hill, La Josie’s comes in handy for a quick drink and snack when every other patio in the neighborhood has a huge wait. Opened by the same team behind Fogón, this cantina serves tacos, nachos, tostadas, and a whole lot of cocktails. And while the food here is just OK (avoid the dry nachos at all costs), you’re in relatively good hands with spicy molten queso and chips, or grilled chicken street tacos that tend to fall apart on the plate but are equal parts charred and juicy.

As long as you’re not ravenous, it’s a solid spot for patio people-watching with a blood orange margarita or spiked horchata in hand—or, for sitting inside to take in the classic Capitol Hill darkness, loud music, and whatever game’s on TV.

Consider Jackalope for a night out in Columbia City that's fueled by smoked brisket-focused Tex-Mex dishes and surprisingly good fish tacos.

There’s a lot of good Mexican in Seattle, but Mezcaleria Oaxaca in Capitol Hill also has an excellent rooftop.
